Jessica Bregant

Jessica Bregant is an Assistant Professor of Law and Affiliated Faculty in Psychology at the University of Houston Law Center, where she teaches Property Law, Criminal Procedure, and Alternative Dispute Resolution. Her interdisciplinary scholarship explores how adults and children intuitively think and reason about legal concepts, including settlement, punishment, and property ownership. She holds a joint Ph.D. in Business and Psychology from the University of Chicago and Booth School of Business and a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law. 

Jennifer K. Robbennolt

Jennifer K. Robbennolt is the Alice Curtis Campbell Professor of Law and Professor of Psychology at the University of Illinois College of Law. She co-directs the Illinois Program on Law, Behavior, and Social Science. Her scholarly work has focused on, among other things, the role of apologies and accountability in legal settlement and other legal processes, legal decision making more broadly, and the relevance of psychology for legal doctrine and practice. She is co-author of several books including Psychology for Lawyers: Understanding the Human Factors in Negotiation, Litigation, and Decision Making; The Psychology of Tort Law; a text book on Empirical Methods in Law; and the influential casebook Dispute Resolution & Lawyers

Verity Winship

Verity Winship is Professor of Law at the University of Illinois College of Law and Director of the Business Law Program. Her expertise is in business law and complex litigation. In addition to her scholarly work on settlement of legal disputes, her research focuses on corporate litigation, securities enforcement, and disputes that cross legal systems. She has also held multiple leadership positions at the University of Illinois and in the broader legal academy, including service as the Interim Dean of the College of Law and the Senior Associate Dean for Academic Affairs.
